La bibliothèque magique

Bibliothèque nationale de France

The Bibliothèque nationale de France wanted to modernize its old Flash-based interactive journeys for children. I designed a new editorial and artistic direction, creating Sacha, Sofia and Leo : three characters who guide 7-12 year-olds through the treasures of the National Library of France (manuscripts, prints, ancient maps …)
The experience combines interactive games (hidden objects, puzzles, drag-and-drop) with audio narration performed by voices actors, making the content more accessible and immersive. I developped a warm, magical visual universe, illustrated with a large number of original artworks, to make the discovery of heritage both playful and poetic.

Characters

I’m Sofia, the rat, but you can call me the Read-ent! I live hidden inside a book, away from the watchful eyes of the librarians…
Apparently, we’re not supposed to “devour” books. But honestly, a little nibble here and there just adds more flavor to the stories, don’t you think?
My name is Sacha, I’m 13 and I’m definitely not the kind of person who waits for Prince Charming. Okay, I’ll admit it… sometimes I get into a tiny bit of trouble. But when something excites me, I give it my all!
Hi ! I’m Léo, I’m 9 years old. I love reading books and observing nature. I’m curious about everything and always on the lookout for the tiniest details… With Sacha around, it’s not always easy! Luckily, she loves my jokes and never makes fun of me.
